Coffee making for the cheapskate in you
By Kaitlynbug
No coffee maker? No problem :)
Hi there, times are tough nowadays (duh) and not everyone can afford to splurge. So if you're like me, NEED your morning coffee kick yet have no coffee maker, fear not! For all you truly need to brew yourself a cup o' mornin' delight is
a) A cup of some sort/ your favorite #1 Dad mug/ the ceramic pencil holder you made in elementary school
b) A paper towel/ napkin/ rag/ old T-shirt (Clean one please!!) and feel free to get creative, this will serve as your filter
Possibly most important is
c) Your coffee! Break a K cup open/ free sample/ a collection of all the remnants/ just go out and buy your favorite brew
Step 1
Fill er' up!
Heat up your water:
Stick your mug of water in the microwave for a minute or two, put a pot on the stove, use the hot setting on your faucet, or set your cup outside in the warm sunshine (hey when you're desperate, you're desperate!)
Step 1
Step 2
Makeshift filter
Take your paper towel, you could fold it in some fancy origami way or do what I like to do, wing it! Just put however much coffee you'd like into the very middle of your paper towel (I recommend AT LEAST a heaping tablespoon full) Then tie it up with a string/ rubber band/ ponytail holder
And now just plop it into your hot water, wait for all the water to turn a nice brownish coloring (should take a few minutes)
Take out the soggy wet rag/filter/napkin/whatever and .......throw that garbage away!! You won't be needing that again
Step 2
Step 3
Last and least but very important!!!
Now your coffee is made, drink it how it is or feel free to add whatever kind of stuff you'd like! Sugar or cream or milk or peppermint or carrot sauce, just however you prefer!
Final tips: Let it cool first :) and I like to add cinnamon to my coffee before I tie it up, and thank you for taking the time to read :)
Step 3
Iced versus Hot? You decide!!!
Iced Coffee Yay or Nay?
